About Yoradosi
Yoel Reza Afhami (also known as Reza Afhami and Yoel RA) is a composer, musician, and a professional civil engineer in the United States. Yoradosi represents Yoel Reza Afhami's music. Several of his submitted instrumental works have been licensed for various venues including local and national radio and television programs.
Music
How does Yoel Reza Afhami define music? In April 1998, Yoel stated, “Music is a vivid phenomenon from another dimension of life. One cannot see it; however, it exists.” His statement about music was printed on the introductory page of his composition for full orchestra, Opus No. 18, Deliverance. Yoel believes, “This vivid phenomenon naturally contains deep emotional qualities and, by default, it originally either contains or naturally extends into five distinct components: melody, rhythm, harmony, tone, and timbre.”
Yoel stated (March 1999), “While roads, bridges, waterways, and airways are important to bring people together physically, music can instantly bring everyone together spiritually by connecting the hearts and minds remotely.”
Yoel Reza Afhami is versatile. His music reflects love, life, peace, justice, and deliverance. As a civil engineer, he appreciates the details involved in engineering elements. However, it is music where he can fully express his deepest feelings and emotions. This combination of mind and soul are the key components that he utilizes to let others hear what he hears in his mind and soul. Deep feelings and emotions are reflected in the extension of his musical thoughts through the formation of his accompaniments, harmony, and incorporation of the appropriate instruments.
So far, Yoel's compositions for various instruments and voices include the following:
- Strings and Flute Quartets and Duets;
- Full Orchestra;
- Vocals: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, Bass;
- Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Clean and with various Distortion Amps;
- Electronic Instruments;
- Choir and Organ;
- Solo Piano;
- Harp, Oboe, Clarinet, and Strings;
- Bass Guitars; and
- Percussion.
All Sounds!
In addition to orchestra instruments, Yoel also loves the new sounds generated electronically; there is no acoustic instrument for them at this time. Yoel sees each voice as a color that can be used in a musical painting.

Yoel believes, "Music itself comes first and it is beyond any pre-classified genre.” He states, "Inspirations and thoughts in one’s soul and mind lead the formation of a music composition. These fundamentals provide the foundation for the instrumentation needed to reflect the thoughts, emotions, and what one senses."
Virtual Instruments!
As the number of orchestras and instrumentalists have been gradually declining, at least in the United States, during the last fifty years, the virtual instruments have been on the rise. Since about the year 2000, we have observed a continuous growth and improvements to a number of virtual instruments. Yoel prefers the real instruments and instrumentalists; he is concerned that the virtual instruments might result in separating an instrumentalist from his/her real instrument. Unfortunately, the current dominate economic system seem to encourage this trend with no boundaries.
Favorite Composers, Artists
Yoel states, “I especially love and respect every composer, artist, and instrumentalist who loves music because of music only and is first driven based on her or his sincere musical compass, thoughts, and emotions, regardless of any particular musical genre.” He has many favorites; below are few examples.
- Every composer, instrumentalist, artist who is sincere to his/her heart and mind;
- Bach;
- Mozart;
- Haydn;
- Beethoven;
- Chopin;
- Vivaldi;
- Javad Maroufi;
- Brahms;
- Strauss;
- Tchaikovsky; and
- Rachmaninoff.
